MAJANTJA HERDBOYS AND FEMALE HERDERS RE-ENJOY MERINO SHEEP GIFT

Mohale’s Hoek, Oct. 24 — The Cabinet’s Public Relations Officer Mrs. Khopotso Phihlela has confirmed that a second batch of 44 herdboys and female herders, will each receive 10 Ewes and 1 Ram from the Honourable Prime Minister, at an event to be held at the Pitso House on November, 01.

Mrs. Phihlela stated this in an interview with the Agency by asserting that beneficiaries have been selected from Siloe, Khoelenya, Thaba-Mokhele and Mashaleng Community Councils by Chiefs and villagers during public gatherings, through the Poverty Reduction Program (PRep) aimed at alleviating poverty and enhancing livelihoods of vulnerable communities.

She concluded by noting that in the first batch 12 beneficiaries were from Lithipeng, Qhoasing and Senqunyane respectively, while the number of sheep was 33.

On the other hand Chief of Braakfontein Mrs. ‘Masempe Posholi applauded the initiative noting the aforementioned community councils under Thaba-Putsoa Electoral Division, have a good track record of managing wetlands and deferred areas (Maboella), and pleaded with others to learn from Thaba-Putsoa.
