MAJORITY OF POLITICAL PARTIES SUBMITTED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

Maseru, Sept 14 – Just a week after the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) threatened to sue political parties which have not yet submitted their financial statements, the Commission says there is a huge improvement.

IEC’S Chief Legal Officer (CLO) Advocate Lehlohonolo Suping told the Agency that the majority of the political parties registered with the Commission have already submitted their financial statements.

He said only two political parties have a zero percent compliance and are likely to receive the letters of demand before the end of this week.
