MAQHAKA NUTRITION CLUBS ACQUIRE SKILLS ON FOOD PRESERVATION AND PROCESSING

Berea, Mar 27—The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition (MAFSN) through its Department of Nutrition and Home Economics has capacitated at least two nutrition clubs under Maqhaka Resource Centre with skills on food preservation and processing.

The training which started on Monday to Friday saw participation of Area Technical Officers (ATO’s) from six resource centers of Berea and 23 members from nutrition clubs such as Bohlokoa Mots’oene Nutrition Club and Maraba Organic Food Preservation.

When unpacking the details of the training, Department of Nutrition and Home Economics, Assistant Nutrition Manager Ms. Mabatebang Napo said through their food science and appropriate technology, they are currently promoting food processing and preservation nationwide…
