MCC TO HOST SAIMSA GAMES IN MASERU

Maseru, Sept. 16 – The Maseru City Council (MCC) is set to host five countries next week during the Southern African Inter-Municipality Sports Association (SAIMSA) Games.

Speaking on Tuesday, the President of the Lesotho Local Authorities Association (LELASA), Mr. Motlatsi Motsopa, announced that delegations from South Africa, Eswatini, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia will participate in the event, with Lesotho serving as the host nation.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, followed by the commencement of various sporting events on Monday.

LELASA Treasurer, Ms. Mampho Shale, highlighted that SAIMSA provides a platform for municipal public servants from participating countries to exchange ideas and best practices for effective service delivery. She emphasized that the initiative promotes consistency in service provision across all ten districts of Lesotho.

Ms. Shale also noted that the week-long games are expected to positively impact the local economy by generating increased business opportunities for Maseru residents…MP/BM
