MCCI SENIORS STILL DENY HEARING INMATES CRY 

Maseru, Aug.29 — Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) Senior Officers are continuing to deny hearing cries from inmates when they were being assaulted during the search exercise.

This emerged when Assistant Superintendent Patrick Mabathoana was testifying before the Commission of Inquiry on the escape of inmates, on the search exercise that was conducted at MCCI on December 22, last year.

Assistant Superintendent Mabathoana maintained that since he arrived at the centre within the facility when the search was conducted, there were no cries from the blocks (A and C)  that were searched whilst he was still there. . .
