MEC MEMBER FAILS TO BE SWORN IN AGAIN

Maseru, Oct 24 – The Movement for Economic Change (MEC) candidate has failed to be sworn in by the Clerk of the National Assembly for the second time in a row after Socialist Revolutionaries (SR) took an appeal in the Appeals Court.

This was disclosed by Deputy Speaker of National Assembly Mrs. Tsépang Ts’ita-Mosena in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

She told the members that her office received documents from lawyers when she was about to enter the House.

The Deputy Speaker said she resolved to suspend the swearing in of the MEC candidate as a precautionary measure in order to give her time to thoroughly study the contents of the court documents to see if the House should proceed and swear in the new MEC candidate.
