Qacha’s Nek, July 04 — A Qacha’s Nek police officer has allegedly shot dead a Ha Hlapalimane man who was mentally ill near Qacha’s Nek taxi rank on Thursday.
A close source to the matter alleged that the incident occured in a revenge attack after the deceased hit one of the two police officers with steel.
Afterwards, the source said the police officer who was walking with the victim tried to hold him but the deceased ran away.
“That is when he fired in the air hoping the deceased would stop running but he did not until he gunned him down,” he said.
