Maseru, Feb. 13 — In a bid to improve non formal education, guidelines have been drafted to ensure registration of non formal schools.
This was disclosed by Non Formal Education Director, Dr. Mathaabe Mphunyane earlier at heads of departments meeting, saying the guidelines will also monitor learning posts (schools) and learning post Administrators (teachers) to analyse if they perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
She further disclosed that in 2025/26, they have planned to benchmark the policy that would guide non formal education.
She indicated that so far 155 learning post administrators are within the LDTC system and paid by Teaching Service Department (TSD), adding that the aim is to ensure LDTC does not only offer education for students who supplement but becomes a college where learning post administrators will further their studies.
