NUL PROPOSES QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMITTEE

Maseru, May 26 — Following signing of partnership between the National University of Lesotho and the Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECoL) in December 2022, the National University of Lesotho (NUL) has proposed the governance committee to oversee the Quality Assurance of the Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE) examinations.

Quality Assurance involves the systematic review of educational provisions to maintain and improve their quality, equity and efficiency. It encompasses school self-evaluation, external evaluation including inspection, the evaluation of teachers and school leaders and student assessments.

In his remarks, Dean of Faculty of Education Professor Paseka Mosia said that the working committee will oversee the overall governance of Quality Assurance processes, saying it will also review and assess reports of the Quality Assurance processes.

Again, he mentioned that the working committee will approve Quality Assurance policies and regulations as well as approve appointment of Quality Assurance Advisory committee.
