Maseru, July 20 — An estimated M100,000 damage has been caused at the block farming fields of Mr. Isaac Joseph Malebaleba who is a Member of Parliament (MP) for Thaba Bosiu constituency on Friday afternoon.
Mr. Malebaleba told the Agency on Saturday that he received a call while at Ha Foso during the harvesting by the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF).
He said upon his arrival, he found that indeed the fields had caught fire and that luckily, the army fire brigade as well as the community nearby responded swiftly to try to contain the fire.
However, he said between 70 to 80 rolls of fodder meant to feed cattle during the dry season in September and October which are sold for M600 each had already been destroyed by the fire, plus some parts of maize meal fields in the same area.
