PARENTS DEMAND ANSWERS AS PRECIOUS SCHOOL’S FUTURE HANGS IN THE BALANCE

Qacha’s Nek, Nov. 11 — Tension reached a boiling point on Monday when the Ministry of Education and Training District Education Manager, Mr. Lebenya Mothibeli met with representatives from Precious English Medium Primary School’s parent group, following a petition submitted to the District Administrator, Mr. Habofanoe Pheku, demanding answers about the prolonged closure of the school.

The two-hour meeting centered around parents’ mounting concerns about their children’s education, as they are forced to either send their children to distant schools or make uncomfortable arrangements due to the lack of educational options in the area.

The school’s closure, which has lasted for an indefinite period, has left parents frustrated and desperate for clarity.

During the meeting, parent representative Mr. Tumelo Sehlabo explained that they sought dialogue with Mr. Mothibeli to understand why the school, which had previously provided quality education, has not been allowed to reopen.
