Maseru, Nov. 12 — The Minister in the Prime Minister’s office, Mr. Limpho Tau has called for multi sectoral efforts as well as pro activeness in countering terrorism.
The Minister said this when officially opening a three day workshop for developing a National Action Plan on Counter Terrorism Strategy held in Maseru starting today, Tuesday.
He explained the importance of operationalising the strategy so as to curb terrorism, adding this workshop will provide the giants in security a chance to creatively explore implementation measures.
“This is the first strategy of its kind that is being put in place when the nation is commemorating 200 years marking the existence of the nation,” he stressed.
According to the Minister, even though the issue of terrorism locally is not as bad as in other African countries, the need for prevention is vital.
