PM GIVES SADC REPORT

Maseru, Feb. 04 — The Prime Minister (PM), Mr. Ntsokoane Samuel Matekane says Lesotho remains committed in upholding peace regionally, particularly Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Mr. Matekane said this during a press conference on Tuesday, when giving a report on the Southern African Development Committee (SADC) Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Harare, Republic of Zimbabwe last week.

According to the PM, the Summit informed Heads of State that some troops from Malawi, South Africa and Tanzania died as a result of the ongoing war initiated by m23 rebels in DRC.

He expressed condolences to bereaved families, indicating the Summit made a decision that Security Minister’s and their entourage will be send to DRC in an attempt to examine the situation, adding SADC and East African Community will also converge to seek lasting solution to DRC instabilities. . .
