MASERU – The Prime Minister (PM) Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane on Friday has test driven the new waste compactor trucks handed-over to him by Alliance Group Investing Company Limited at Thibella bus stop.
The PM was accompanied by the Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police Mr. Lebona Lephema at the event which commenced with a cleaning campaign.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Matekane expressed gratitude to Alliance, saying the gesture marked a milestone in the history of efforts aimed at keeping the environment clean.
He said a clean environment does not only protect health of the people but also attracts investors and contributes towards job creation.
He added that countries are affected by climate change which continues to damage the environment, saying the gesture will go a long way in enabling Maseru City Council (MCC) to reach many areas when cleaning the environment.
Speaking at the same event, Minister Lephema also expressed gratitude to Alliance, saying the gift will motivate MCC and communities to clean the environment. . . .
