PUBLIC SERVICE REFUTES ALLEGATIONS OF DELAYED SALARY PAYMENTS

Maseru, Sept. 10 — The Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Employment has refuted social media allegations that salary payments for the month of September will be delayed.

This has been revealed in a conversation with Mr. Maqalika Matsepe.

In an interview with the Agency, Mr. Matsepe indicated that salary payments for government employees this month will be released on scheduled payday.

He said whenever there are inconveniences encountered during the process of salary payments, the relevant ministry will issue a notice.

He pleaded with the public servants not to consider the news because there is no such a thing expected to happen.

Mr. Matsepe strongly urged social media people to stop causing unnecessary confusion as that may result in unwanted chaos.

According to these social media allegations, the delay in salary payments expected to occur is said to apply to individuals due to the implementation of the Human Resource Information System.

The allegations further stated that this is going to affect mostly the individuals who just got hired by the Government this month of September and the expectation is that they will collect their salaries from the relevant office.
