Maseru, Oct. 15 — Radiation Protection Agency ( RPA) hosted a session to discuss the authorisation process for Lesotho’s first cancer centre in Maseru on Wednesday.
This ground-breaking development marks a significant step in improving access to cancer treatment in the country.
During an interview with the Agency, Mr. Mojalefa Sello, Inspection Policy Development and Enforcement Manager, mentioned that RPA is a government body established by the Radiation Protection Agency Act of 2018.
He mentioned that its primary functions are to regulate radiation sources, ensure their safe use as well as to protect human health and the environment from the harmful effects of ionizing radiation.
