E-SERVICES UNDERGO EVOLUTION – RAMASHAMOLE

MASERU – The Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI), Principal Secretary (PS), Mr. Kanono Ramashamole says e-services will go through evolution stages until fully automated to the back end systems.

He said this when officiating e-services validation exercise attended by representatives from different government Ministries held at ICT boardroom on Wednesday.

Addressing participants,  the PS who joined the meeting virtually said this is the first stage of automation, where the government through MICSTI as front desk Ministry wishes to establish if this first stage is successful hence validation exercise.

“The success of this project will go a long way in the long run to reduce long queues when accessing services.”

Similarly, Information Communications Technology (ICT) Director General (DG), Mr. Thapeli Tjabane further reiterated that digitisation is a long journey requiring support of all.

He alluded that they have engaged amongst others Computer Business Solutions (CBS), trainers who also demonstrated how the system will operate to its finalities.

In the same note, one of the participants, Ms. Ts’ebeletso Mofolise from the Ministry of Public Service said this project will go a long way in ensuring that data is recorded while also reducing manual work.

The ICT department under MICSTI is spearheading the e-services to ensure Ministries move rapidly and offer services online.

Participating Ministries include Home Affairs, Public Service, Public Works and Transport and Finance to mention but a few.
