COURT TO HEAR ARGUMENTS

Maseru, Aug. 09 — The High Court through Justice Polo Banyane will on Thursday next week hear arguments in a trial within trial in a murder case against five army members who are alleged to have killed three men at Mafeteng in 2012.

The court today heard evidence from Major General Ramanka Mokaloba in the trial within trial as the prosecution tried to prove that a report made to the witness by one of the accused was free and voluntary.

The witness testified that Litekanyo Nyakane, one of the accused in this case, who was a Commander of Special Forces deployed in Mafeteng in April 2012 called him and gave him the report about the incident which was happening at Mafeteng.

He stated that he was not sure about the voluntariness of the accused when he made the report as he was in Mafeteng while he (witness) was at the Makoanyane Barracks in Maseru.
