SHEEP SHEARING RESUMES IN BEREA

Berea, Aug. 09 — In preparation for early exportation of wool to the international markets, Teyateyaneng Wool and Mohair Growers Association (TWMGA) has resumed sheep shearing activity.

This was confirmed by the TWMGA Chairperson Mr. Motsamai Nyareli during an interview with LENA on Friday.

Mr. Nyareli said the sheep shearing activity has started on Monday and they are first targeting 36 farmers under the association, then they will shift focus to those under the Marketing Group, adding that their aim to finished in September 05 as per their plan in order to give them enough time to prepare for exportation.

He said although the sheep shearing activity has started, they did experience the prolonged drought and that has a negative impact on production of wool, but since starting they have one farmer who has produced good production of wool due to supplementary feeding.
