SADP HOSTS MARKETING DAY

Maseru, March 13 — In a bid to promote local products and services, the Smallholder Agriculture Development Project II (SADP II) will hold a marketing day in Mokhotlong on Friday.

In an interview with the Agency, SADP Marketing Officer in Mokhotlong, Mr. Keketso Mafantiri said this day is intended to provide an opportunity for farmers to advertise for free their products and services.

He said this will help customers to familiarise themselves with products in store for them, adding all are invited to participate at the event, either as sellers or buyers.

In order to encourage farmers, he explained that SADP II also organizes workshops for farmers, inspires and engages farmers by providing them with the knowledge and information about their farming needs.

However, he said due to Mokhotlong terrains he is aware that some of the people, especially sellers may be unable to reach the District Administrator’s offices to display their product, urging those who can assist them to voluntarily do so.

SADP II is a developmental project meant to support farmers to obtain increased production by helping them adhere to quality agricultural practices. This is aimed at enhancing commercialization and improved dietary diversity among targeted beneficiaries.

This event also to be held in Maseru at a later stage has been supported financially and otherwise by the government and World Bank to mention but a few.
