Botha-Bothe, July 24 — She-Hive has today conducted an introductory workshop for community leaders in the district, aiming to introduce programs to combat gender-based violence.
Speaking to the Head of Psychosocial Support at She-Hive, Mrs. Matlotliso Sengoai, she explained that the meeting with church leaders, village chiefs, councillors, teachers, and the youth was intended to introduce two programs which these groups of leaders will assist in administering to ensure they reach their intended targets.
“The two programs are Mphahlolle and Unmuting and Amplifying Echoes of Adolescent Youth and Girls. With Mphahlolle, we are making the public aware that it is everyone’s responsibility to report abuse. The new legislation, the Counter Domestic Violence Act, 2022, explains that if a victim does not report, it is another person’s responsibility to report on their behalf. . .
