SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP HINDERS PRIVATE SECTOR GROWTH

Qacha’s Nek, Feb.22 — The October 2023 Lesotho Rapid Private Sector Assessment report reveals that majority of Basotho businesses are sole proprietary hence their stagnation.

This was disclosed by Finance Ministry Senior Private Sector Development Officer Mrs. ‘Maselikane Makhemeng during the report dissemination to stakeholders on Thursday.

She said the assessment objective was to establish the existing barriers for the private sector to contribute to national development priorities and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including the sector’s knowledge and awareness gaps as well as policy and regulatory challenges.
