Maseru, Oct.23—Following Socialist Revolutionaries (SR) approaching the High Court over the weekend to stop the imminent swearing in of a third candidate on the party’s Proportional Representative (PR) list, it is likely that they are fighting a losing battle.
SR approached the court following the unexpected resignation of SR’s member Advocate ‘Mamarame Matela as the party’s Member of Parliament with immediate effect in the National Assembly on Friday last week.
According to the party’s PR list submitted to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) Advocate Matela was second on the party’s PR list followed by Mr. Chabaseile Mabusela as the third on the said list.
SR went to court to resolve to challenge the gentleman’s agreement that was signed prior to the October 07, 2022 general elections between SR and Movement for Economic Change (MEC).
