STORY OF QAMO MATELA ENDS 

Maseru, Nov.29— The story of the most talked about Qamo Matela who was charged with the murder of his wife Mahlompho Matela, born Rethabile Mofolo, on Friday came to an end when he was convicted by the High Court and sentenced to 24 years imprisonment. 

In sentencing the accused, the presiding judge, Justice Tseliso Mokoko remarked that there is a significant decline in public confidence in the courts and the broader criminal justice system. He stated that there are sentiments that individuals who commit acts of murder evade immediate legal scrutiny allowing them to remain at large and commit further crime without fear of consequences…
