Botha-Bothe, Aug. 3 — Thala-Boliba, a cooking club from Ha Pataka, secured the first-place prize of M5,000 in a competition among village clubs showcasing their agricultural produce.
The event, called the “Selemo sa Basotho Challenge,” was organized by the Hololo Development Foundation and aimed to celebrate the beginning of the farming season for Basotho, encouraging them to prepare for summer cropping. Mr. Khereng Khereng, the Chief Executive of the foundation, explained that the event is a way to honor the tradition of starting the farming year with gratitude and prayer.
“The event began with a church service to thank God for life and to seek His guidance as we enter the summer cropping season,” Khereng said. He further explained that the competition was an opportunity for farming and nutritional clubs from around Hololo to display their produce and share insights about their operations.
