Maseru, Feb. 06 — Tomorrow, Friday marks the final day for all staff of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) stationed around the globe to report back to the United States, following a directive issued earlier this week.
As of 11:59 pm ET, all direct hire personnel will officially be placed on administrative leave, except for those involved in mission critical roles, core leadership and designated programs.
This decision reflects a significant shift in USAID operations, compelling employees to return home amid ongoing organizational adjustments.
USAID has outlined plans to facilitate the return of its personnel, promising to arrange and cover travel expenses for those affected within the next 30 days.
