Maseru, Jan. 07 — Recruitment of new workers by Precious Garments is a right step towards job creation, says Independent Democratic Union of Lesotho (IDUL) Secretary General Mr. Rathakane ‘Mei.
This he said following the recruitment which took place on Monday where he said though he does not have the exact number of workers employed, this is a good move towards reducing unemployment.
He therefore said that they appreciate it as that means they as unions will gain with more members while street vendors as well as landlords, adding that the workers will also benefit as they will be able to put bread on the table for their families.
However, he appealed that this should not be like the other factory Ace Apparel where workers were re-employed and later retrenched again.
