Maseru, Jan. 03 — Chairman of Khathang Tema Baits’ukuli Mr. Tšolo Lebitsa says that they have experienced the worst decline in business during the year end festivities.
He said this in an interview on Friday where he said that 2024 was the worst in terms of business attributing that to a lot of issues which include among others high arrests of migrants as well as retrenchments that hit the country during the course of the year.
“This was a terrible year compared to other years. There was no business at all and it has caused us stress especially since schools are opening soon,” he stressed.
He added that they also experienced a new issue whereby people seemed to have used counterfeit money to purchase from street vendors. He said that though he does not have the exact total of the counterfeit money, they have numerous cases of vendors who encountered this.
