Berea, Aug. 08 — Human rights activist and once a Member of Parliament for Senqu constituency, Mrs. Mats’eliso Tuoane Seperiti has encouraged women not to degrade themselves, but they should stand united in order to realize their powers of transforming both their households and the country’s economy.
This emerged as August is earmarked to commemorate Africa Women’s month under the theme, ‘Building Resilient Economies for all’.
Mrs. Seperiti said women play a vital role in promoting economic growth for their families in various ways either being formal or informal business sector, farming, factories, corporate world and other aspects of development.
She said unlike in the past where men used to go to the mines, recently the migration pattern has changed and women are becoming migrant laborers as domestic workers in South Africa and through their remittances, families are lively.
