Quthing, Dec. 30 — A two-day Youth Sports tournament organized by the Crime Prevention Unit of the Quthing Police station kicked-off at Liphakoe Sports ground Upper Moyeni on Monday this week.
The tournament is intended to encourage youth to always keep themselves busy with sports as to among others avoid being engaged in criminal acts.
In an interview, the Offer incharge of Crime Prevention Unit in Quthing Police Charge Office Sub Inspector Majane Letho said the tournament end on Tuesday afternoon, will play a vital role in provision of of crime prevention education to the youth that are members of the participating teams, while others will be those present to support teams teams from their respective villages.
She stated the teams compete in football, netball and lady soccer, adding that winners of the tournament will be awarded prizes that will include trophies, gold and silver medals and balls, while the participating sports teams will receive consolation prizes of balls.
