TEACHERS UNDERGO TRAINING ON SYLLABUS ROLLOUT

Quthing, March 13 — Teachers from at least 29 Early Childhood Care and Development Centres (ECCD) in Quthing are currently undergoing a five-day training on ECCD syllabus rollout held at Upper Moyeni until Friday this week.

In an interview at the same event, the ECCD Inspector from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), Mrs. ‘Malerato Lehora said the new syllabus package that includes teacher’s guide assessment has been designed to advocate for play based learning.

She stated that the syllabus provides quality education for three to five year-old children and helps to build a strong foundation to all children by closing gaps of the old 1998 syllabus that has been used in ECCD centres.

“The syllabus provides children with an opportunity to learn and play in a healthy environment using appropriate instructional materials that align with every child’s learning space” she said. . .
