VISUALLY IMPAIRED SPEAKS ON DISABILITY GRANT

Thaba-Tseka, June 29 — A visually impaired person of Likomeng , Kopanang Leqele (34) says, his Disability Grant (DG) has increased from M750.00 to M1800.00.

He said this in an interview with the Agency on Friday after receiving the grant from the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development at Bobete pay-point on Friday.

He alluded that while he faces various challenges due to his disability that include having to walk long distance from Likomeng to  Bobete pay-point, he has for the last four years been getting M750.00 and is happy that this money will meet his needs half way including paying for his care taker while also buying food.

According to Leqele, there is need for government  to continue addressing basic needs of those with disabilities including ensuring access to roads and other services as well.
