FORMER POLICE MINISTER GETS FREE BAIL

Maseru,April 17 — The Former Minister of Police Mr. Lepota Sekola is reported to have been given free bail after he was arrested in relation to illegal entry of cattle into the country.

Speaking in an interview with the Agency on Wednesday, the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) Public Relations Officer Senior Superintendent Kabelo Halala confirmed this saying that the said accused was also found without legal documents allowing him to be in possession of such animals.

He also said that before the court where he made his appearance on Tuesday, Sekola was also accused of bringing in the said stock into the country without being checked by the veterinary team.

Senior Superintendent Halahala mentioned that the said accused is however expected to make his next appearance before the court on April 30th.

The said accused had been appointed as Minister of Police in the previous government which was under the reigns of Dr. Moeketsi Majoro.

He also stood in as the member of Parliament for the Makhaleng constituency under the flag of All Basotho Convention (ABC).
