Maseru, April.09–In line with the recent 50 percent tariff increase by the United States of America on Lesotho’s exports, the African Development Bank Secretary General Mr. Vincent Nmehielle revealed that the bank is willing to support Lesotho should it bring forth its mitigation plans to address the tariff matter.
This the Secretary General answered during a webinar while answering to a question by the Lesotho News Agency on the steps that the Bank is taking to help member states such as Lesotho to diversify their export markets and reduce overreliance on single trade partners.
In his response, Mr. Nmehielle said Lesotho’s export market on textile industry has highly relied on the United States market which he said the export tariff increase should come in as a wakeup call for the African countries to work together and put-up plans that can work for the continent…
