Maseru, April 03 — The ‘Mokhosi oa ‘Mangoana’ (MOM) anti drug association has applauded the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) for arresting 3 suspects of drug dealing.
Speaking in an interview with the Agency, the Public Relations Officer of the association Ms. Ponts’o Tumisi said that this move is a step into the right direction to fighting drug abuse that has overcome most youth in the country.
Ms. Tumisi stated that the indulgence of youth in drugs is a serious matter that needs collaborative efforts to fight it as the future of Basotho youth is being destroyed.
She mentioned that if all parties including the communities can come forth on this matter, the issue of sale of drugs in communities can also be attended to.
Meanwhile, Ms. Tumisi indicated that their hope as the association is to see the courts of laws issuing harsh fines to the dealers as it is the only way that this matter can be dealt with.
