ARMED POLICE IN ROADBLOCKS THREAT TO TOURISTS-LEHATA

Maseru, Nov 15 – Member of Parliament for Makhaleng constituency Mr. Mootsi Lehata says heavily armed police in road blocks portray that there is no peace in the country and that could scare away tourists.

This was the view of Mr. Lehata in his point of order in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

He said traffic police were seen with big rifles in one of the roadblocks in the country while on his way to the parliament on Wednesday morning.

Mr. Lehata said those arms are a symbol of lack of peace in the country, saying that ought to be discouraged, more so after Minister of Sports, Culture and Tourism Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo had called for support of the members of parliament during the Maletsunyane Braai Festival.. .
