Qacha’s Nek, Jan.08 – Sello Mots’oane (59) and Ntsoaki Matabane (28) of Ha Molikoa, Whitehill, were each sentenced to a fine of M2,000 or one year in prison for child neglect.
However, the court suspended the sentence on the condition that each pays M600 to ‘Mamahali Matabane (Ntsoaki’s mother) to buy groceries for the children under her care.
Magistrate Monyake Mahlehle, delivering the judgment, considered the parents’ unemployment and reliance on irregular piece jobs, noting their inability to adequately maintain their children…
