Maseru, Nov 15 – The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) and a Mosotho owned mining company known as Refela Holdings are locked in a mining lease dispute and they appeared before the Natural Resources Committee at the New Parliament building on Wednesday.
Refela Holdings Pty, Ltd Chief Executive Officer Mr. Mohapi Khofu claimed that he has acquired the quarry mining rights at Polihali way back in 2015 but that LHDA through the Polihali Phase two Dam construction project has occupied his piece of land.
He told the Natural Resources Committee members that despite his efforts to ask for compensation from the LHDA, his pleas have fallen to deaf ears hence he approached the committee for intervention. . .
