BANTU APPOINTS NEW HEAD COACH

Maseru, April 06 – – Mafeteng based outfit Bantu has appointed Bob Mafoso as the head coach for the remainder of the season.

According to the team’s official page, the mandate for the Coach is to guide the team to league championship. It adds that Mafoso has already done that in all seasons completed with the club that include 2016/17, 2017/18 as well as 2019/20.

Bantu was in search of Mr Abram Mongoya’s replacement to fill the gap he left after resigning from his coaching reins on Monday in a letter he wrote to the club.

Earlier, Bantu Communications and Marketing Manager (CMM) Mr Pule Mosoatsi told the agency that the expectation will be for Bantu to win all six matches which are left in order to return to the top of the Premier league log table.

When asked to explain why Mr Mongoya resigned, he said in his letter of resignation the former Bantu coach stated that it was due to family reasons, saying the club’s management arranged a meeting with him on the same day but they could not  to convince him to stay.

He conceded that it was a coincidence that Mr Mongoya’s resignation came when the team was struggling with results after losing two matches in a row against Matlama and Lesotho Defence Force (LDF).

The CMM said Mr Mongoya’s Assistant coach is still with the team but could not say if he will be expected to take over the coaching reins or not.

Bantu FC is currently in second position behind LDF as a point separates these two teams even though the Mafeteng based outfit has a game in hand.

Linare FC is also in the Vodacom Premier League race in third position with last season’s league champions Matlama galloping on fourth position after defeating Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) 1-0 last weekend.
