Maseru, Jan. 27 — Basotho Action Party (BAP) has reacted to the alleged shooting of Basotho National Party (BNP) Leader, Mr. Machesetsa Mofomobe.
In its statement, BAP says it abhors the unfortunate and inhumane incident and hopes that the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) will work hard to ensure the incarceration of the perpetrators.
The statement further says it is during this time that it is going to be clear as to whether or not the LMPS and other law enforcement agencies are doing their job as per their oath that they will do their job without discrimination or favour.
BAP further expresses concern that the shooting is not a sign of history repeating itself, back to the era of political attacks, which ended up putting Lesotho in a spotlight before the Southern African Development Community (SADC) during the period of 2014 to 2016.
It adds that Lesotho was forced into constitutional reforms by the SADC region and the world with the financial assistance, with the hope that peace will reign in the end. . .
