YOUTH EQUIPPED WITH FIRE AWARENESS SKILLS

Maseru, Dec.27 — As a way of creating precautionary measures during this time of the year, the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) fire department through the Special Operation Unit (SOU) held a fire awareness and preparedness campaign for youth in Ha Thetsane.

While explaining the purpose of this initiative, Lance Sergeant Rafallang Lesaoana from this department said that it was to equip youth with skills of how to prevent fire outbreaks, how to survive in a fire outbreak situation and also how to help those affected by fire.

He indicated that it was aimed at also helping youth with skills of how to navigate fire outbreaks safely when there is a lot of smoke and how they can carefully remove clothes on a burned person. . .
