BASOTHO ENCOURAGED TO PROMOTE HOME CARE

Maseru, Feb. 24 — Founder of Pauline Home Care Lesotho, Miss. Thakane Motsomi has encouraged Basotho to promote home care for patients and the elderly in the country.

Speaking in an interview on Saturday, she stated that home care is important. She added that it is more healing than medication which is a surplus. She emphasised that the sick heal better and faster while at the comfort of their homes.

She remarked that hospitals no longer provide proper care for the sick. She said people trusted with the care of patients in hospitals or the elderly in their homes are no longer passionate. She pointed out that they only do the job to earn a living.

Miss Motsomi added that families are often unable to take proper care of their sick family members after they have been discharged from hospitals. She added that they also fail to adhere to instructions of doctors.  She thus indicated that they should therefore seek assistance from professionals who can provide quality care and monitoring.

She emphasised that the elderly people need to age with grace and dignity. He added that they together with the sick need to be loved and taken good care of. She added that they should be emotionally, physically and spiritually nourished. She further added that they should be provided with hope. She further emphasised that those who have their last days on earth should be able to enjoy them.

Pauline Home Care Lesotho was established in 2023 with the aim to promote home care among Basotho.
