 BASOTHO URGED TO BE HONEST DURING POPULATION CENSUS

 Thaba Tseka, Nov. 12 — The Statistician Bureau of Statistics (BOS) says it is important to provide truthful information during the Census, as the data collected is used to inform the government, businesses, and researchers for planning, resource allocation, and policy-making.

Mrs Maneo Phakisi stated this during a Wednesday meeting with the Heads of Departments (HODs).

According to Mrs. Phakisi, the Population Census, scheduled to take 14 days, is expected to commence on April 12, 2026.

She said to tackle the issue of potential dishonesty among Enumerators in their work, she stated that, with the assistance of UNFPA, a cartography project will be conducted, adding that the project will provide them with detailed information about the expected number of people in each specific village they are to reach.
