BLOOD BANK CALLS FOR MORE BLOOD DONORS

Berea, Dec. 07 — With December igniting the mood of the festive season, the Lesotho Blood Transfusion Services (LBTS) has appealed to the Berea community to keep on donating blood in order to save lives.

This unfolded on Friday during the ongoing SHE-HIVE campaign to observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, staged at Teyateyaneng, Taoana Square.

Speaking to the Agency, LBTS Phlebotomist Mr. Molefi Molefi said despite the festive season, the blood bank is always in dire need of blood because it is the most vital lifesaving resource, hence the importance of keeping their reserves ready for any emergency situation.

Mr. Molefi said efforts to follow SHE-HIVE on its campaigns is meant to instill knowledge to people about the importance of donating blood and to encourage them to regularly and voluntarily donate blood because one day the same blood can save their respective lives.
