BOTHA-BOTHE WELCOMES THE REVIVAL TORCH

Botha-Bothe, Jan. 26 — Likila and Makhoakhoa, as they are fondly known today, joyously received the revival torch in celebration of the 200 years of the Basotho Nation’s existence.

The torch was welcomed by school pupils from Botha-Bothe LECSA Primary School, members of the Council of Churches Lesotho (CCL), representatives from all sectors of the security forces in Lesotho, government officials, Members of Parliament, and the public at the District Administrator’s office.

With a grand convoy and students marching alongside the revival torch, the procession made its way to Ha Mopeli village, where it was to be lit by the Principal Chief of Likila, Chief Rets’elisitsoe Mopeli. Lighting the torch, Chief Mopeli remarked that the arrival of the revival torch in Botha-Bothe signifies a significant milestone in the history of the district and Lesotho as a whole.

“With this torch, we hope and pray that Basotho will listen to the message delivered by His Majesty and change to become better people. I hope that people abandon their criminal acts and allow women to live in peace. . .
