Maseru, Jan.16—Following delays from Monday this week, a case in which some army members are accused of killing three men at Mafeteng in 2012, on Thursday resumed before the High Court.
The prosecution called its 8th witness Ralinne Mokete who testified that on April 07, 2012 he was with the deceased in the matter: Thabang Mosoleng, whom he said was commonly called ‘Makanke’, Monyane Matsie and Ntala Letatabe as well as Mohlominyane. He stated that they left Ha Lepolesa in a Uno motor vehicle adding that Makanke was the driver.
The witness told the court that the deceased who were older than him and Mohlominyane were later involved in a fight while at a bar at Matholeng in Mafeteng. He stated that after the fight was stopped following a lengthy struggle, they all left around midnight taking the road to Van Rooyens and later took a gravel road to Matholeng High School.
He stated that they stopped along the way as some of them wanted to go back to buy beer which they had been sent to buy when they left home. He said he tried to talk them out of that, indicating that they should go home and avoid going back following what they experienced at the bar. . . .
