Berea, Sept 15 — District Child Protection Team (DCPT) Berea says it is the role of every individual to ensure that children are well nurtured and their human rights are always protected.
This was said by DCPT member Mr. Mpho Matobo during the establishment of Mapoteng Community Child Protection Team (CCCPT) on Thursday.
Mr. Matobo said much as CCCPT work involves volunteerism issues, but in an African context a child is raised by the entire community, therefore plans to establish CCCPT is only meant to create coordinated efforts between the district and community level regarding child protection issues.
He further said regardless of their advocacy efforts on children’s rights, parents as well have a bigger role to play in executing their responsibility of nurturing such children well so that in the future they can become responsible citizens.
