Beijing, Sept.14 — Facilitator Ma Jie says countries should opt to develop integrated media.
This he said during the seminar for young media professionals from African countries in Beijing for nine African countries including Lesotho.
He said that radio and television are becoming increasingly decentralized and not meeting people’s needs therefore emphasizing the need for integrated which he said is a concept abbreviated for media convergence.
He said that integrated media integrates traditional media such as television, radio, newspaper and magazines with new media.
He stated that integration of new media is a way for companies and government to promote themselves.
He noted that the characteristics of integrated media include openness and accessibility saying that people can participate in news events from everywhere.
