Maseru, Oct. 17 — The Magistrate Court of Lesotho through Magistrate Thabang Tapole  has on friday cleared a case of Reabetsoe ‘Katara’ Bulane, a former employee of Cappello restaurant who was accused of sexual offence.

Magistrate Tapole mentioned that the prosecution failed to prove or give evidence that the accused is the one who raped the complainant. He emphasized that the medical report did not indicate that she was raped and pregnant as she had claimed.

He indicated that the court admits the accused explanation that he followed the complainant for the payment of the bill. He mentioned that the court considered that the two had consensual sex. He said the main thing was to determine where the accused was raped and the prosecution mentioned that there were no physical injuries and abnormalities detected.

He mentioned that both the prosecution and the defence listened to audio recordings and were satisfied with the CCTV footage that was presented in court however, the footage did not capture all the incidents that occurred inside the toilet.
