COURT TO HEAR ARGUMENTS

Maseru, Oct.30— The High Court through Justice Tséliso Mokoko will on November 10 2025 hear arguments in a case in which four men are charged with the murder of Ralikonelo Joki, popularly known as ‘Leqhashasha’ as well as that of Mothibe Mothibe and Thomello Ntsane.

This is after the last defence witness Sesioana Moabi, who is one of the accused in the matter completed his evidence. He entered his defence after his co-accused Mothusi Tlelase, Sootho Liphoto and Kamo Phakoe.

All the accused have denied involvement in the offences charged. Others implicated some of the state witnesses in the matter. They claimed that the police tortured and influenced them to admit involvement in the murders.

Among the key state witnesses who testified in this matter was Teboho Kumi. In his evidence, he told the court that he transported the accused to the place where they killed Joki. He added that he also transported them when they were going to kill Mothibe who happened to be in the company of Ntsane. 

Another key witness was Sekhobe Maama who testified as an accomplice. He informed the court that he was present when the death of Mothibe was planned and executed.

Mothibe Mothibe was killed together with Thomello Ntsane who was in his company during a shooting that took place at Mokema on May 20 2023 while  ‘Leqhashasha’  was shot and killed during an incident that occurred at Lower Thamae on May 14 2023.   

The prosecution in this case is represented by Advocate Christopher Lephuthing while the defence is represented by Adv. Lepeli Molapo.
